About the competition
Through our eyes — life, land & light.
For over two decades, Life & Light has brought together amateur photographers from across the Western Region to capture this wonderful outback landscape of ours — the people, the country, and the everyday life that runs through it.
It began as a small community competition and has grown into one of the region’s most loved annual events, showing the rest of the world what life is really like out here — through the eyes of the people who live it.

Appreciating
the little things.
This year we’re asking photographers to slow down and notice what’s easy to miss — the morning light on a fence line, a working dog’s stare, the dust on a child’s boots. The small things that make up a life out west.

“You don’t need an expensive camera to see your home clearly — you just need to look.”
