Rules of Entry

1. Open to all amateur, semi-professional and professional photographers, excluding judges.
2. All entries must have been taken on or after 1 January 2024 in the relevant competition region.
3. Only entries submitted via the competition website lifeandlight.com.au are eligible.
4. By entering you confirm that you are the sole author of the image/s submitted, that the images are entirely your own work and no other party has any right or interest in them.
5. Entries must be in JPEG (.jpg) format with a maximum file size of 15MB. Images must be between 2000 and 5000 pixels on the longest side.
6. Images can be colour or black and white. Minor adjustments to exposure, contrast, colour saturation, highlight and shadow detail, local area adjustments, sharpening, noise reduction, and dust spotting are allowed.
7. Composite images created from multiple exposures in-camera or developed from raw files in the same session are permitted. Composite images must be accurately described in the entry title.
8. Entries must not contain animal cruelty or animals in distress.
9. Entries must not contain any form of nudity.
10. Entries with watermarks are ineligible. Photographers submitting watermarked images will be asked to resubmit without watermarks. If they are unable to do so, the entry will be removed.
11. Once submitted, entries cannot be altered or substituted.
12. Copyright of each entry submitted remains with the photographer.
13. By entering the competition you agree to the organiser reproducing your entry in materials directly related to this competition — e.g. for promotional materials, the exhibition, website and social media. You will receive a credit wherever possible.
14. The organiser will not sell, or provide to third parties, entrant images without permission.
15. Judging will be conducted by a panel of judges selected by the committee.
16. The decision of the judges is final and no discussion will be entered into.
17. Prizes will be awarded to the First Place, Second Place and Third Place. Prize amounts are as published on this website.
18. Prizes are in Australian dollars (AUD).
19. Winners must be available to collect their prizes at the exhibition, or arrange for a representative to do so on their behalf.
20. The committee reserves the right to disqualify any entry at its discretion.
21. Entrants who submit images that are in breach of these rules may be banned from future competitions.
22. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to all of these rules and conditions.
